Fall Produce

Updated: Oct 1, 2018

This week I shared how I shop organic on the blog. One of the things I mentioned is that I purchase seasonal produce at the weekly farmers market. Eating “in-season” produce is easier on the wallet and better for your health. If something is growing abundantly (aka in season), farmers will have better prices. Most importantly it’s better for your body to absorb nutrients. It’s fresher, harvested when ripe and will just taste better. You know, the way food was meant to be eaten...

Each season has its “star” produce. If you’re a farmers market shopper like me, most of the farmers will be selling similar produce. It’s always fun seeing what’s in season because it takes over the market. Embrace yourself for apple and pumpkin season, because it’s coming in strong! I actually get excited with each seasons bounty and the natural diversity. It changes things up and you can enjoy new things throughout the year.

October is just around the corner so I thought I’d share a few in season produce lists. You probably already know what the Fall season brings but other produce might be surprising. Happy Fall Y’all!
